Dear Friend,
We lift our hearts in praise to the Lord for His wonderful provision during the past year. We also want to thank all of our supporters for their help and encouragement and our staff for all of their hard work during 2008. It is a real thrill to realise that we used over 1,000 Tonnes of Paper in the production of over 56 Millions pieces of Gospel Literature. This is an increase of 76 Tonnes of Paper on the previous year. As we look forward we have much to excite us in the ministry, especially the completion and move later in the year to our new Gospel Literature Factory.

Requesting Huge supplies of Gospel Literature for Nigeria.

“Dear Samuel, Firstly, I want to thank you so much for all of the literature that you have sent to Nigeria over the years for us in the Emmaus ministry and for all of the other churches, pastors and ministries. This has been a tremendous blessing throughout the country and has had a tremendous impact for the Gospel in Nigeria. Since we put you in touch with Dr. Obey and the distribution system through his warehouse and through the Emmaus depots, the literature has gone far and wide throughout the land.

I know of many churches, schools, pastors, and ministries that have been so blessed as they have used your materials. Of course, as others see your materials being used, it serves to create an even bigger demand for material on the part of other churches, ministries, pastors, schools, etc. Certainly if you were able to double the number of containers coming to Nigeria each year, we could effectively distribute all the Gospel literature that you could possibly put into them.

It has been wonderful to see the impact of our literacy classes at “The Haven Of Hope” in Plateau State in relation to your literature. Some villagers who were illiterate 5 years ago have come to the school, learned to read, have read the copy of your Gospel of John in Hausa (their own language) and have trusted Christ. The enclosed photo of the women reading the Gospel would be typical of this situation.

The set of Children’s Bible Lessons are always in great demand and we never have enough. Could you please send us 5,000 sets of these in the next container so that we can get them into the hands of more pastors in rural towns and villages. They find them very effective in evangelizing their people in these settings. We have constant requests from Sunday school teachers, evangelists and pastors for these sets of teaching pictures. Within a few days of the arrival of a consignment we have distributed all that you have designated for Emmaus.
We also constantly need more 5kg cartons of tracts. All of our Bible Centres clamour for more when we deliver them a few boxes. We could easily use 5000 cartons of them in the next container and distribute them within a few weeks. We now have over 1,000 registered Bible Centres in Nigeria and they all need help with more literature. Jim Gillett.

Appreciation from the Philippines for supplies of Gospel Literature

“Dear Friends, Warm greetings from Sowers of the Word Ministries. We are honoured with our partnership with Revival Movement Association. The Gospel literature you have provided has helped us reach many more souls for the Lord Jesus Christ. We are sharing with you some of the reports which we have received from the churches who have received free supplies of Gospel literature.

Providence Baptist Church reported that they have been able to distribute Gospels of John to the parents of the children in their feeding programme. The children’s Bible lessons are very useful in their children’s ministry. One of the teachers testified that the lessons spoke directly to her heart and led her to fully understand the sovereignty of God. Currently she is using the Bible lessons in her 3 to 8 year old class. The lessons help her a lot as she guides her students through the chronological events of the Bible.
Child Evangelism Fellowship work actively in spreading the Gospel. They go from school to school and boldly preach the Gospel and then distribute Gospels of John afterwards. During the last two months they have visited 12 schools and have distributed 19,867 copies of the Gospel of John. Many of these young people have come to know the Lord through their dedication in spreading the saving Gospel of Jesus Christ. We also received reports from Jabez Baptist Church, Living Waters Asia, Jesus in Lord Church and Blessing Gate Church.

We are indeed thankful for the donors of Revival Movement Association who help to supply us with this Gospel literature and for your continuous partnership in spreading the Word of God here in the Philippines. We know that the Word of God will not return unto Him void and that the Word of God is the power of God unto salvation. May God richly bless you as you do His will. Helen Pena, Ministry Coordinator, Sowers of the Word Ministries.
Work is continuing smoothly in the new factory. Below you see the second floor which is almost ready for the cement to be poured for the floor.

Please continue to pray for every aspect of the ministry that we may continue to know the Lord’s blessing as we continue to seek to fulfill the many requests that we are receiving for supplies of Gospel Literature.

A tribute to Miss Maizie Smyth

We would like to take this opportunity to extend our sympathy to the entire family of Miss Maizie Smyth who went to be with the Lord on the 1st of December 2008. We also would like to extend our sympathy to the friends of UFM Worldwide with whom Maize worked. Also to the members of the churches in Congo whom Maizie loved and served as a Missionary for many years.

During one of the times of war within Congo when Maizie could not work in the country we invited her to help us in this Literature ministry. At that time we received many letters from churches within French speaking Africa. From the letters we did not know who where the main church leaders and who could useful use large quantities of Literature.
We asked Maizie if she would be willing to visit these countries to let Church leaders and Missionaries know that we had supplies of French Gospels of John and Scripture Booklets available free of charge. After she prayed about this possibility she took up the challenge and commenced visiting each of the French speaking countries.
As Maize visited these countries is was very obvious from the commencement that the Lord was going before her and guiding her every step. As she travelled she normally would have only one or two contacts within a country – sometimes she only had the address of somewhere to stay.

Each time she came home it was amazing to hear how the Lord had provided her ever need, including all the contacts with the church leaders and missionaries and also someone who would be willing to take on the responsibility of importing a container of literature and looking after the distribution among the many organisations who had requested the Gospel Literature in each country.
One of the many occasions when the Lord looked after Maizie was when she visited Togo in West Africa. On Sunday morning not knowing anybody she decided to visit a church. She got a taxi and asked the driver to take her to a Church - when she arrived she was taken to seat at the front, later another man arrived and was seated beside. During the offering they chatted and she discovered that he was the leader of the Evangelical Churches in Togo. The one person who could give her all the addresses and details of the church leaders within the country. God had once again directed her steps.

When Maizie was in Kinshasa the capital of the Dem. Rep. of Congo she wanted to cross the border and visit Angola. However when she went for the Visa she was told it would take weeks for her to receive it - not unless a High up government official was to help her. A short time later she got a phone call from one of her former students she taught 24 years earlier. He was now the head of the Senate in Kinshasa. When he heard the problem Maizie had he immediately wrote a letter to the Angolan Ambassdor asking for a visa for Maizie. The Lord provided the visa just a few hours before the flight into Angola where again she met many more Church leaders asking for French and Portuguese literature.
The following are the countries that Maizie visited on behalf of Every Home Crusade - Cameroon, Gabon, Central African Republic, Benin, Togo, Burkina Faso, Republic of Congo, Democratic Rep. Of Congo, Angola, Burundi, Rwanda and Ivory Coast. Each of these countries received container loads of Literature as a result of the visits of Maizie. We also had the privilege of helping Maizie with supplies of Literature for her own work in Kisangani, Congo. Only the Lord knows how many precious souls have been won to the Lord Jesus Christ as Saviour through Maizie’s passionate and courageous, visits to these countries. On behalf of the many who where blessed through her witness and work we say “Thank you Maizie for a life dedicated to serving the Lord as your Master and King.”
