New Large Gospel Literature Factory."
Dear friend,
We are delighted to be able to share with you the exciting news that the Lord has provided Revival Movement Association with a new factory for the expansion and growth of this printed page ministry. There is a considerable amount of building work required so we will NOT be moving yet for some considerable time. We plan to keep an office in Belfast for those who wish to purchase tracts or for those who wish to visit and leave a gift. In this report we would like to share with you the details about this building and how we plan to develop it and use it.

The search for a new building commenced under the leadership of Mr W. E. Allen, and we know from that time that many of our supporters have been praying that we will be able to find a suitable building for the extension of the work. During the past years we have looked for a suitable building site. We have also placed bids on existing factories and even made an agreement for the purchase of a building. During the legal work the deal did not work out so we continued to look to the Lord for His guidance.
Through an amazing way the Lord has provided us with this new property which is situated in the countryside on the Kinallen Road between Hillsborough, Dromore and Dromara in County Down. We know that some supporters have been aware for sometime that an agreement had been made. We did not inform our supporters immediately as we had to apply to the Department for Planning for a “change of use” for the building – this has now been granted so we are now free to publish the news as all the legal work has been completed.
The size of the building is 16,000 square feet and is relatively high being 24 feet to the eaves. The building is sitting on a large site so we will have plenty of room for parking and for the loading and unloading of 40ft lorry loads of paper. The building also has a loading bay with a dock level which will allow us to drive the forklift from the factory floor onto a lorry for loading and unloading purposes which will be a huge benefit to us.

At present the building is just a shell and all of the internal design and layout needs to be completed. The building is divided into 10 bays. We are planning to keep 3 of these bays for a storage area where we will build pallet racking to store all of the paper for printing and the pallets of literature which have been prepared and are ready for shipping. The remaining 7 bays of the ground floor will be used for all of the printing equipment, including the Muller Saddle Stitcher for producing the Gospels of John and the folding machines.
At the opposite end of the building from the store we plan to put a first floor over part of the print room. As part of the building has been built into the side of a hill, this will mean that our front entrance will come directly into the first floor which will accommodate all of our offices, the packing and dispatch area for the small parcels, the canteen with an area for visiting groups to be seated for a cup of tea, changing rooms and toilets for the staff and a reception area.
We then plan to build a second floor 16 feet above the entire 7 bays of the print room and offices. We will be able to use this area for collating the children’s Bible lessons, for operating small folding machines and for a general storage area. This area will allow us extra room for expansion of the work in due course. As the first and second floor will be used for holding considerable weights of paper and light machinery we have, therefore, decided to make these concrete floors.
We therefore have to construct the necessary steel frames to support the floors and all of the paper and equipment whenever we move in. To support the steel work we also need to have suitable foundations in the floor. It is estimated that we will need approximately 70 tonnes of steel for this work. We are therefore presently consulting structural engineers, steel suppliers and contractors to make all of the necessary arrangements. We feel that it is necessary to maximise the use of the building even if we do not use it all immediately as it will be impossible to do this building work if we were occupying the building.

We need to have a sub-station from Northern Ireland Electricity on our site to supply us with sufficient electric power. We will also need to have suitable ventilation and heating systems for the print area and offices. In our present Factory the compressors and pumps on many of the machines are producing warm air which makes the factory uncomfortable to work in during the summer months.
Whenever all of the building work is finished we are planning to move all of our present equipment into this new factory. There will be a considerable amount of time saved as our store will be under the same roof as the printing equipment. At the moment each day we use our lorry to bring a load of paper from our store and then take from our factory completed literature to the store ready for shipping.
We are also hoping to be able to purchase additional equipment, so that we can produce much more literature. We are planning to upgrade our Web Leader printing press which we have had for the past 8 years producing Gospels of John. When we upgrade this machine we hope that we will be able to double the quantity of booklets printed. This will also mean that we will be purchasing a second Muller saddle stitcher for the production of all of our booklets.
In the new building we are also planning to install a waste extraction system. For those who have already visited our present factory you will see that there are small trimmings as booklets are being produced from many of the folding machines and the saddle stitcher. All of these trimmings are at present being manually gathered up and placed into metal cages which are sitting throughout the factory. A waste extraction system will suck away all of the trimmings as they are produced and place them in a central container on the outside of the building.

There will be a considerable amount of expense with all of the steel work, the building of the floors and then the fitting of offices, canteen and toilets. We expect the total cost to be in the region of £600,000. When the project for a new building was commenced, Mr W E Allen sent an appeal to supporters requesting finance for the purchase of a suitable site. This appeal raised £200,000 which will be used for the internal building work of the new factory.
We would very much value the prayers and support of all of our friends in this tremendous expansion of the work. As you will understand there is a huge amount of planning and work which will lie ahead throughout the remainder of this year. Please pray for all those who are advising us in the many different areas of specialisation. It will be most beneficial to be able to get this new factory into production as we have a huge number of requests for literature from many different countries.
We have firm requests for 20ft container loads each with 18 Tonnes of literature from the following countries – Philippines, Argentina, Brazil, Venezuela, Chile, Liberia, Nigeria, Ghana, Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, Madagascar, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Angola, Malawi, Mozambique, South Africa, Ivory Coast, India, Kazakhstan, Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and Moldova. We also have smaller requests for literature from Croatia, Nepal, Namibia, Swaziland, Lesotho, Belgium, Portugal, France, Hungary, Romania, Holland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Bulgaria.
Many of these friends will have to wait for a considerable time until they can get a supply of Gospel literature for their work. Please pray that all those who are involved in every aspect of this new building will be able to proceed quickly with their work in order that we may be able to meet the many requests for literature which continue to arrive from many countries around the world. We will share more news with you in future reports as the work develops.
