Children accept Christ as Saviour in Malawi

A Report from CEF in Malawi on their recent Christmas Party Clubs (CPCs)

This was the busiest quarter this year. The focus was much on the Christmas Party Club Seminars and the actual clubs. It was amazing to see how God provided the resources and the volunteers. God touched the hearts of the people that they were eager to do the CPCs after the training. We trained 1,453 people in 65 Christmas Party Club Seminars using A Day to Remember, Joy to the World and Whose birthday, is it? This was due to the fact that we did not receive the 2024 Christmas Party Club Material due to logistics challenges and we had to use what was available in our stock. 118,709 children have been reached so far in 757 Christmas Party Clubs and 79,201 children counselled for salvation. 130 Good News Clubs have been established as a result of the Christmas Party Clubs. Pastors have already started calling for Super Seminars to be conducted in their churches.

It has been such an amazing experience to see how God has recruited more workers in the harvest (Luke 10:2). Beautiful smiles on the faces of the children were just amazing to behold. We could testify the joy of the Lord in children’s hearts and all the people present. Teachers, chiefs and many more had a privilege to hear the gospel as well. God fought many battles and opened more doors for us. One of the Full-time staff Grace Chirwa alone was able to reach out to over 50,000 in 51 schools. Her goal is to reach 70,000 children with Christmas Party Clubs in 2025 only if she is able to get a motorbike to help with transportation issue. We greatly appreciate God for such a privilege.

Despite the busiest schedule with the Christmas Party Club programs, Good News Clubs had to continue in homes and schools. A total of 24615 were reached with the gospel and 113705 got saved in Good News Clubs and other ministries. In one Good News Club one boy aged 11 years came to the CEF missionary (Oden Kaning’a) after teaching the Bible Lesson of the prodigal son with flashcards and said, " Please Quickly help me to have a Big Hug from God now."

I asked him Why he needed a Hug from God, He said, “I saw in the picture you showed us a Father who wrapped his Son with a Big Hug even though the Son was a sinner.” This young boy continuing saying,” I did so many wrong things that even my parents, my relatives and my friends they can't admire to hug me or greet me at all. But today I need God to hug me as I am and forgive all my sins.” Oden had a quality time with this boy separately the boy was very open to Oden and expressed everything he had done. At the end he was counselled for salvation and got saved. Glory be to God!

Grace Chirwa: One girl from a certain school accepted the Lord Jesus Christ after learning in the Christmas Party Club. I distributed Devotional Books and after reading hers, she called me through the head teacher that she used to steal money from her parents but now she has stopped.

In another school, when parents heard that there was a stranger coming to that school, they did not like it because there was a rumour spreading that there was a vaccination meant to be given to their children in school that may cause death in three days after being vaccinated. They came with panga knives meant to kill but were surprised to find me sharing the gospel to the children with chiefs and school authorities seated. Thank God for His protection

Elizabeth Puruma: After teaching a Christmas party club in a certain school, a girl aged 9 years came to me and said, thank you for teaching me and leading me to Christ. I would like to give my offering to support this ministry and produced K100 (US$0.0510) to give me. When I tried to decline she insisted to the point of shedding tears, I collected it and prayed with her. What a priceless smile I received from this girl. One of the volunteers shared that after conducting a Christmas Party Club, many children and their parents have joined her church. Glory be to God.

Joseph Khondowe: One volunteer conducted a CPC in his area (N’neno District) which practices an occultic religion called Gule Wamkulu. The Gule Wamkulu is the only entertainment that people have in that area and it is pure evil. After the CPC many children received Jesus Christ and now a Good News Club have been established whereby not less than 45 children attend every week. In Chiradzulu District, there is an area which is said to be a dry land in that it’s difficult to establish a Church there. After the Christmas Party Club training, Calvary Family Church has been able to establish a home cell that is going along together with the newly established Good News Club. Hallelujah!

Jean Mupata: One volunteer confessed after the training that she didn’t know that she could help children come to Christ through giving an invitation and counselling. She was so glad that now she will be able to help more children come to Christ. Emmanuel Kumwembe: One troublesome boy attended the CPC. After showing him love and care he listened to the message and accepted Christ. Now he is changed that his parents even called to testify the changes in their son’s behaviour. Glory be to God.
